Oncological rehabilitation

Oncological rehabilitation
Specialized program for better fitness, health and psychological well-being.Oncology rehabilitation programme
In the onco-rehabilitation programme we closely cooperate with cardiology outpatient clinics in Liberec and Prague. We have developed a rehabilitation programme based on proven methods of cardiac rehabilitation and adapted to the specific needs of oncology patients. The aim of the programme is not only to improve physical fitness and exercise tolerance, but also to mitigate risks resulting from poor lifestyle, improve overall well-being, reduce morbidity and improve chances of health.
The program is based on a comprehensive examination of patients, analysis of their previous illnesses and their treatment, laboratory and stress tests. On the basis of the examinations, which we often carry out with our colleagues cardiologists and oncologists, we draw up an individual plan of physical activity and suggest procedures to eliminate any risk factors that could complicate the condition by their presence. We adjust the measures and exercise plans gradually according to the evolution of the condition and focus on their long-term sustainability.
Specific objectives:
- Increase functional capacity and improve exercise tolerance.
- Improvement of cardiovascular parameters, including improvement of HDL, reduction of LDL and triglycerides, and control of glycated hemoglobin.
- Prevention and alleviation of side effects of cancer treatment: fatigue, nutritional disorders, depression, neuropathy, lymphedema, and others.
- Promoting mental health: Psychological support and motivation to exercise are an integral part of the program, which is led by experienced physiotherapists.
Benefits of the program:
- Psychological improvement: lower levels of fatigue, better sleep and improved mental state.
- Improved body composition: increased muscle mass and reduced abdominal fat.
- Improvement in physical activity: better tolerance of physical stress, both in specific exercises and in normal daily activities.
- Adjustment of posture and muscle imbalances with reduction of non-cancer pain.
- Laboratory improvement: improvement of lipid profile and glycaemic control.
